After some wondering about what activities feel meaningful to me and why, I set myself the challenge of completing a writing prompt every day of August to reprioritise writing in my life and let the creativity out.

A group of young would-be heroes and heroines try to save the world, one quest at a time. The only problem is, the world is not in grave peril! Fuelled by epic tales of heroism from long ago, the group must find their place in the world while learning that life is not as black and white as stories have led them to believe.

A short piece of prose I wrote quite a while ago during a low point. It was inspired by those powerful, sudden moments of melancholy that creep in between other moments, such as when waiting for a kettle to boil.
